JOHANNESBURG – A passenger has been handed over to the SA Police Service for investigation and possible prosecution after another major drug bust at OR Tambo International Airport.
South African Revenue Service (Sars) officials have intercepted drugs worth R4.5 million.
The narcotics were found hidden in two bags belonging to a passenger who had flown in from Ethiopia on Tuesday.
Sars spokesperson Sandile Memela said: “A drug test confirmed that it was crystal methamphetamine. The passenger was handed over to the SA Police Service for further investigation and possible prosecution.”
