CAPE TOWN – Two men convicted of an armed robbery at Cape Town International Airport have received lengthy jail sentences.
Thamsanqa Loli and Eric Tshamlambo were sentenced this week in the Khayelitsha Regional Court.
Loli was given a 22-year jail term while Tshamlambo was sentenced to 15 years behind bars.
The two men and one other co-accused targeted cash in transit security guards who were busy emptying pay machines at the airport in December 2010.
The third accused, Zamile Mbedu, couldn’t attend court proceedings this week due to an apparent illness.
He’s expected to be sentenced on Thursday.
